Sometimes it seems that the world around us seeks to swallow up all our attention and energy. Nah, its moved beyond seems like as the evidence mounts. Everyone is paying more and more $$ to get in front of your face. In todays world- poeple are paying massive amounts of $$ to snag our attention on the road (bill boards- even bumper stickers, car wrap ads, or even now the fancy vans with mechanical billboards built right into them) its not just the real road but on the digital road too- even to look at this blog you likely had to bypass or not multiple online ads, even in our games people are paying big $$ to plaster their image infornt of online gamers. One politican even paid to have his image plastered on a digital billboard in a racing game. Its seems theres nowhere you can go to get a away from it all. But my friends, thats the lie. not only is it possible to grab some precious time with God. But He invites us to. His spirit calls to us yet most times we have already tuned Him out and turned Him down. Like a guy who has been turned down from one too mnay homecoming invites. Jesus waits for us His lost sheep to return to Him. All along knowing that the very thing we need is Him yet we fill ourselves with everything but the real thing.

Aren’t you tired of it yet? Inside you know your burning out and running down, but will you heed the call to come to Him? Will you be willing to sacrifice the calling of others for your attention and finally turn back to your first love? Thats the call. This is the time. The question is what will you do?? The Spirit of God calls deep to deep. Do you feel the pull? even its its a faint whisper like a shadow fleeting from view? Do you need more strength? Do you need renewal? A new start? Now is the time, sneak away to God. Run and hide to be with Him. Find Him and you have found the treasure more precious than the pot of Gold at the end of the rainbow. For He will never leave you nor forsake you. Even when stock markets wane and 401k decay He will not slumber nor grow weak. He will not turn tail and run. He is the Father the one who has poured Hislife into the desert of our lives, if only we would accept His Grace. Let the words of the prophet roll over your tongue like clean, fresh, cold water. water that quinches the driest cotton mouth.

28 Do you not know?
       Have you not heard?
       The LORD is the everlasting God,
       the Creator of the ends of the earth.
       He will not grow tired or weary,
       and his understanding no one can fathom.

 29 He gives strength to the weary
       and increases the power of the weak.

 30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
       and young men stumble and fall;

 31 but those who hope in the LORD
       will renew their strength.
       They will soar on wings like eagles;
       they will run and not grow weary,
       they will walk and not be faint.

So where is your hope? In the work of your hands? Why would we risk everything in our hands when we are so limited? TUrn to Him and let His hands carry you and revive your spirit.

Pastors Devotions
2 Chronicles 15-16

As I read this passage, I was reminded how appetite can literally drive our lives. This time mine in particular. Even after having eaten a nice meal I had a hankering for certain food, so much so that I took our family +1 on a slight detour. It had been ages or so it seemed since I’d last had cheesecake like cheesecake factory. Why do i share this? Well as I read this passage. I was reminded of how when we hunger for something we’ll really put our energy into seeking what we hunger for. As for the Israelites in those days the true God was out of sight and mind of most Israelites. However, when God reminded King Asa through his prophet of His promises. After that the hunger for God had captured Asa and he sought after Him and found Him. But not only did he find God, but Asa was able to return the tribes of Judah and Benjamin back to their true God.

If your appetite is not with God and his Word and you lack His peace and strength, God invites me you all of us to return to him daily. I’m always amazed at how quickly I can get caught up in the work of God and yet miss the sweetness of my savor who I serve. The lord reminds me “I am with you when you are with (me)”.

May you use me to bring you daily into the lives of my home, church and community. God may you satisfy each of us as we turn to you. I pray for those who are struggling to continue their devotions or maybe even just begin. May your Spirit affirm your words in their hearts that You are with them when they are with you.

Lord I pray for our mission team that you will establish and strengthen Cathryn, Kristian,and Kirsten as well as Sister Flora, Brother James and Sister Pauline. May you grant us a strong bond of unity and desire to see your will done through our lives. Thank you Lord that when we are with You you are with us. And I pray for those who remain that they will see that we are one body and grant them the vision to see that there work of prayer here binds them together with us in the building of your kingdom. Help us to be diligent in our preparations of our lessons and activities and prepare ourselves in prayer to be useful in Your hands.
